That’s my family up there, all 6 of us! If the saying ‘Big Family, Little House’ ever represented anyone it’s us. We live in a 100 year old farm house on 9 acre’s in Perry County, Southern Indiana. Our house has a large prairie sitting behind it, Hence the name Perry Prairie Photography.
I am a nurse by trade but after the birth of our first child I started to stay home. I have been ‘momming’ now for 15 years. I started photography in 2005 shortly after the birth of our daughter.
My goal when delivering a gallery of photo’s is to receive a message telling me they are in love with the images. I want every session to have magazine quality looking pictures that are worthy of hanging on any wall.
If I had to describe my editing style I would say I try bring out the natural vibrancy of true-to-life colors. I make every session it’s possible best. Sometimes bright, but I lean towards moody with deep shadows yet bright faces. My favorite time to shoot is sunset and I love a dramatic sky, a deep woods shadow or highlights dancing on water.
To me it’s not just point & click. I need to see true emotion, the perfect poetry of life unfolding in my lens. I love to watch how people interact with my prompts and I find myself up late into the night, editing with a huge smile on my face just loving to see the emotion on my subjects unfolding in my images.
